El Afilador (The sharpener) carries a plastic flute and rides on his tricycle or walks playing a

unique tune that everybody recognizes as the tune of the man that sharpens knives. 

Customers will come out with what ever they need to sharpened and the afilador will 

sharpen it using a grinder.

The grinder shown here is battery operated but sometimes the afilador carries a manual sharpener 

where he has to turn a handle by hand to run the grinder.
